Students of the Month
Keagan Bowman is our student of the month in Mrs. Terhaar’s room. Keagan is an excellent student! He is friendly and helpful to everyone in the classroom. Keagan is a hard worker and always does his very best. He displays good manners, follows classroom rules, and is very respectful. Keagan arrives every morning with a smile on his face and ready to learn! I am so happy to have Keagan in my kindergarten classroom :)
The student of the month for Mrs. Ridgway’s class is Mr. Landen York. To say that Landen has exceeded my expectations of a beginning kindergarten student would be correct! Landen, from day 1, has shown me how a kindergarten student should behave, how hard they should work, and how good of a friend they should be to everyone! Landen is also such a good listener. I hardly have to remind him to use his listening ears, and he tries his best to remind others to use their listening ears. Landen works very hard at all of his papers, but isn’t afraid to ask for help when he needs it! The best thing to see in the morning is his award-winning smile! I appreciate how well Landen has started this year, and I can’t wait to see just how much he accomplishes by the end of this year! Keep up the hard work, buddy!!!!!!
Gabriella Garrett is the October student of the month in Mrs. Woodbury’s first grade classroom. Gabriella is a very cheerful, caring, and polite student. She does well in class. She never disrupts the classroom and is always on task. Gabriella is helpful to her classmates and treats them with respect. Gabriella loves to play basketball and baseball in her spare time. I am glad to have Gabriella, also known as Ella, in my first grade classroom.
Kellan Carlin is the Student of the Month for Mrs. Randall’s first grade class. He is a student that tries to make sure his homework is complete and his assignment sheet signed. During class discussions he offers answers and ideas. He has a desire to learn and do well on the tasks he is given even though they might be difficult. When lining up he tries to be a role model for other students and an example with appropriate bathroom behavior. I look forward to watching him grow this year and enjoy having Kellan in class.

She always tries her best on each assignment, works hard in all of her subjects, and takes pride in her work. Gabby is a good reader and checks out lots of interesting books from the library. Gabby is a good role model for other students. She is dependable and I can always count on her to follow rules and be a good citizen. I’m glad Gabby is in Room 310. Keep up the good work Gabby!
Mrs. Mosier has selected Sofie Murray as student on the month in Room 312. What can I say about Sofie but, “WOW!” Sofie continually gives 110% effort in all areas of school! The student of the month for October in Ms. Kirkman’s room is Evelynn Atkins. Evelynn has done a great job turning in work on time the first nine weeks. She has developed a great work ethic. Evelynn is a quiet worker, stays on task, and uses her time wisely. She continually earns her Fun Friday time and is completing her Ementum requirements for each week. I have found that I can depend on her in the classroom to help me out when needed. She is always making positive choices, and she is a great role model for her peers. I am positive that Evelynn is going to have an excellent year in 4th grade. Keep up the great work!
Jason Favre-Walser is room 322’s student of the month. Jason actively participates in class. His hand is always in the air and he wants to offer information on the topic we are discussing. He turns in his work on time. Jason has improved tremendously in writing. He wants to learn and it shows! I enjoy his sense of humor and playfulness, but he knows when to settle in and work. Jason also lets me know when it’s time for lunch, specials, or restroom breaks. He keeps us all on track! I am so proud of him and his work ethic. Keep up the fabulous work, Jason.

Aubrey Garber has the honor of being student of the month for October, for Room 421, in our 5th grade classroom. Aubrey is probably one of the most self-motiviated students I have had in my 27 years of teaching at R.S. She has extremely high standards for herself and I do not think the words, “good enough” ever enter her mind or vocabulary. The pride and creativity she adds to her projects and school assignments are remarkable. Aubrey is an observer and listener. She sits back and lets information soak in and then applies new concepts freely. I can not say enough positive things about this young lady. Congratulations Aubrey on being chosen as our student of the month.
Mrs. Meyer has selected Lilly Tiller as Student of the Month. Lilly has made great improvements in her outlook of others. She has been able to be more empathetic toward her classmates, thus giving her an opportunity to build friendships. This has allowed her to focus on her learning. Lilly has also worked hard to improve her quality of work after being asked to slow down and approach her work in a more serious manner. This has helped her to improve her grades. Nice job Lilly! Thank you for modeling positive choices to others in our school.
Mrs. Markley would like to nominate Lily Rau as the Student of the Month for October from Room 432 in 6th grade. Lily is a new addition to Randolph Southern this year, and she is fitting in perfectly. She is an extremely hard worker in class and always has her homework completed on time. Lily is enjoying being a member of our Tech team with Mrs. Wilson. Lily is eager every week to help on Tech Thursdays in the afternoons and always makes sure that she has her work done to be able to attend all the meetings. Lily is slowing coming out of her shell in class, and I can’t wait to see how to continues to blossom and grow throughout the rest of the school year. Keep up the hard work Lily!
Chevy Parsons is the October P.E. Student of the month. Chevy’s favorite game to play in PE is Battleship. He also enjoys playing basketball. His favorite food is cheese quesadillas. He is a joy to have in class. Chevy always asks if there is anything he can help me with.

I hope that his improvements continue for the rest of the school year! Great job Liam and keep up the great work!!
